- In 2021, German Organization for International Cooperation GIZ / ECOserve. Our experts have created a portable energy audit device and developed an appropriate computer program (software) through which it is possible to measure the coefficient of thermal conductivity (λ) of any material or structural elements of a building (wall, roof, etc.), which allows to precisely determine the thermal resistance and, consequently, the heat transmittance coefficient (U-value) and heat losses, resulting in an accurate estimate of the actual energy efficiency level; A guidebook on energy efficiency and energy auditing has also been developed;
- In 2021, German Organization for International Cooperation GIZ / ECOserve. Our experts reviewed and evaluated household stoves on the Georgian market, and then developed recommendations for their improvement; A calorimetric device complying of international and European standards ISO/DIS 13336 and CEN/prEN 13240 has been created to test/evaluate energy efficiency of household stoves;
- In 2021, energy audits of buildings were conducted in the villages of Akhmeta and Akhmeta Municipality (energy audits of 46 buildings): 9 houses in Akhmeta, 8 houses in Lower Alvani, 4 houses in Upper Alvani, 3 houses in Upper Khodasheni, 4 houses in Babaneuri, 5 villages in Matani, 2 houses in Jokolo, 2 houses in Dzibakhevi, 2 houses in Atskuri, 2 houses in Kistauri, and one house in Laliskuri, in Kutsakhta, Khador, Duisi and Ojio;
- In 2021, energy audits were conducted in 59 public schools of Keda Municipality in Adjara region, which was aimed at increasing the energy efficiency level of schools. Problems with lighting, heating and other systems were identified during the energy audit; Baseline energy consumption/cost, energy consumption schemes were defined; An optimal schedule has been developed which will have a positive impact on energy costs; Recommendations for energy efficiency measures, the use of alternative renewable energy sources, and the use of more efficient systems have been developed; A cost-benefit analysis of these measures was conducted; Also, manufacturers/suppliers of these systems in the local and foreign markets were selected;
- In 2021, within the framework of the program of the Swiss organization Responsibility Investments AG and Global Climate Partnership Fund (GCPF), energy audits were conducted: Green City LLC, Hotel Monarch, Resort in Utsera LLC, Baltic Investment Group LLC., Hilton Hotel, Ortachala Tower, Chavchavadze Business Center, Lisi Residence;
- In 2021, United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). A study was conducted on financing and investment opportunities for renewable energy sources in Georgia. The research also included an overview of the current state of Georgia’s energy sector, energy policy, and challenges related to renewable energy sources. In addition, in accordance with international best practices and with the involvement of various stakeholders (Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, GSE, GNERC, etc.) in terms of renewable energy (wind, solar, hydro, biomass), a plan for the future development of Georgia has been developed.
- In 2020-2021, within the framework of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) program “Resource Efficiency and Ecologically Clean Production”, energy audits and awareness-raising trainings of 30 enterprises were conducted.
- In 2020-2021, energy audits were conducted within the framework of the program of the Swiss organization Responsibility Investments AG and the Global Climate Partnership Fund (GCPF): Grada Residence, Green Alley, Redix, Magnolia, Axis Tower;

- In 2019-2020, Energy audits were conducted within the framework of the United Nations Framework Agreement (UNFCCC) on the Fourth National Communication of Georgia related to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) (facilities are confidential);
- In 2019, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Energy audit and training for enterprise employees on energy efficiency, energy management and environmental issues, improvement the energy performance of production processes, energy saving and mitigation of environmental impact were conducted at Rustavi Metallurgical Plant. Possibilities of using renewable energy sources (solar and wind) were also discussed;
- In 2019, German Organization for International Cooperation GIZ. The energy chapter of the Georgian Climate Action Plan has been developed, in particular, climate change mitigation measures (energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, etc.) have been developed and their positive financial and environmental effects have been identified.
- In 2019, within the framework of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Electric Motor Systems Optimization (MSO) program, an energy audit and training in energy management was conducted for the Tbilisi Transport Company – Tbilisi Metro employees. Measures have been developed to optimize the energy costs of electric motors and to increase the level of energy efficiency, the relevant feasibility study has been carried out and a cost-benefit report has been prepared;
- In 2019, within the framework of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Energy Management System (EnMS – ISO 50001) program, an energy audit and training in energy management was conducted for the employees of 10 companies (including Rustavi Azot, Georgian Water & Power);
- In 2017-2018, Energy audits were conducted within the framework of the United Nations Framework Agreement (UNFCCC) on the Fourth National Communication of Georgia related to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) (facilities are confidential);
- In 2017-2018, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). A drafted version of the Energy Efficiency Law and the Secondary Legislation has been developed. Legislative and regulatory experts assisted in implementing legal changes related to energy issues regarding technical aspects;
- In 2017-2018, NIRAS – International Multidisciplinary Organization. In accordance with international best practice and the current situation in the Georgian electricity system, a draft version of the Renewable Energy Sources (Solar and Wind) Greed Code, Minimum Requirements for Generation Facilities (Technical Assignment) and National Standards for Greed Connection and Operation have been developed;
- In 2017, NIRAS – International Multidisciplinary Organization. Based on best practices in the EU, a draft version of the energy efficiency labeling scheme and regulation of household appliances (which the EU regulation covers) has been developed. In order to assess the probable impact of the mentioned labeling on the Georgian market prices, the manufacturers of household appliances operating in the Georgian market were surveyed, interviewed, the necessary data (number of products produced, number of sales, etc.) were collected and processed;

Within the framework of the Sustainable Urban Projects Demonstration (SUDeP) and Covenant of Mayors (CoM) in Eastern European Neighboring Countries have prepared training materials for 6 countries and provided training on energy efficiency and energy auditing, including energy auditing types and methods, energy audit of street lighting and etc;
- In 2014-2016, within the framework of the Covenant of Mayors (CoM) program, energy audits were conducted in public buildings of 9 signatories cities of Georgia (Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Batumi, Zugdidi, Gori, Telavi, Akhaltsikhe, Bolnisi, Mtskheta) to develop the National Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP);
- In 2014, KSB GmbH, Frankenthal, Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Overviewed and introduced KSB “Pump as a Turbine” and “River Turbine” working principle, efficiency of such systems and utilization perspectives for Georgia;
- In 2014, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Global Environmental Financing (GEF). Georgia’s energy sector research was conducted, existing problems were identified and analyzed, and measures were developed to reduce the degradation of the Mtkvari River Basin;
- In 2012-2013, the Agency for International Development (USAID) program the Energy Supply of Households, Recreation and Industrial Development through the Energy Efficiency Technologies and Renewable Energy, was conducted energy audits (Facilities are Confidential);
- In 2011-2012, within the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) program the Assessment of Waste Biomass Energy Potential in Georgia and its use in the Heating System of Natakhtari Public School in association with the Georgian Energy Association was conducted an energy audit and scientific-engineering study;
- In 2010-2013, energy audits were conducted in 30 municipal buildings within the framework of the Norwegian Energy Saving International (ENSI) program;
- In 2010-2011, the within the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) program was conducted energy audits in 10 Georgian hospitals (including Ghudushauri Hospital in Digomi);

- In 2009-2010, the within the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) program in association with the Advanced Engineering Associates International, Inc. was conducted energy audits in Stepantsminda Municipality and developed measures for the use/introduction of alternative energy resources to ensure energy supply to the region;
- In 2009-2010, within the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) program the Demand Side Management in association with the Advanced Engineering Associates International, Inc. was conducted energy audits, training course on energy auditing and energy efficiency;
- In 2003-2006, was conducted energy audits of public buildings and industries, a training course on energy auditing and energy efficiency within the framework of the the Norwegian organization Energy Saving International (ENSI);
- In 1996-2009, within the framework of programs of various international and local organizations were conducted energy audits, were introduced energy efficiency measures and energy saving technologies, were designed projects related to renewable energy sources, were implemented optimization and rehabilitation projects – more than 100 projects in total. Above mentioned activities were financed by the following organizations: Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, STATOIL & USAID (technical solution for rehabilitation of fuel oil storage at Gardabani TPP), British Petroleum (BP), Hagler Bailly Co & USAID (technical renovation of municipal power distribution network in Rustavi within Power Utility Commercialization project; implementation of 42 demonstration projects on energy efficiency (weatherization, lighting efficiency, hydraulic systems rehabilitation, installation of modern heat generating units), PA Consulting Group (working out and management of implementation of 34 demonstration projects on energy efficiency and training courses for engineers on energy efficiency within the framework of the Energy Saving Projects), Heidelberg Cement Georgia, Ltd Georgian International Energy Corporation, Georgian Ministry of Fuel and Energy, Ltd GeoEngineering, Georgian Department of Science and Technology, Georgian National Science Foundation, Georgian Research and Development Foundation, U.S. Civilian Research Development Foundation (CRDF), Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU), Gardabani Thermal Power Plant (Studies on possibility of rehabilitation of Gardabani Thermal Power Plant (TPP) and Tbilisi Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHPP) and implementation of electric power and heat co-generation), Tkibuli Thermal Power Plant, Rustavi and Kaspi Cement factories, Agara sugar factory, Gurjaani and Kobuleti Juses plant, Designing, construction and testing of new type solar energy collector in the Georgian Technical University.
